Hill and Valleys of Life

Hello again my friends in Blogland,

Since I last posted life had been a bit of a roller coaster ride. My dear mother became ill and passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side. She lived 93 great years and until a few weeks ago, was independent, needing very little daily help, and able to enjoy outings with family and friends. Saying goodbye is hard but she is in the presence of those she loved so much that went on before her. Mom was a woman of great strength and faith and ready to begin her next journey. She left us with so many great memories and those will keep her with me always.

For Mother's Day my daughter treated me to a yummy lunch at Lola in Seattle,

just had to try the "doughnuts"  that are so popular...yummy

Lamb Kababs...yummy!!

Cheers!! A Mimosa
My sweet daughter..

What a perfect day, the food was divine and the company the best....priceless :-)

Beautiful flowers arrived from my son
Such a pretty pink..Ilove pink!
I have been enjoying these flowers from my son all week. He is guiding in the mountains of Alaska.. but will be home in a few weeks with my daughter in-law for a visit. Can't wait :-)

And finally an update on Pom Pom de Paris. My sweet friend Pam at Quilting Square One just finished quilting  Pom Pom for me and she really brought it to life...it went from pretty to BEAUTIFUL..if I say so myself. I am extemely happy with this quilt. Took advantage of some sun today and got a few pics of it in the backyard. Sadly this quilt just does not photograph well. The light seems to fade all the colors..and it is a very soft contrast.
I'm happy to be in my sewing room a few hours a day again. So much waiting to be worked on. All in good time.
Have a great weekend....
