Sew many quilts, sew little time!!

I have been busy lately working on "abandoned" projects. A few years ago I purchased a darling little bag of strips of 30's Reproduction fabrics and pattern for a "Confetti Quilt". The strips were sewn together in pairs then the pairs sewn together and cut apart then sewn together to make a 16-patch block. 30 blocks are sewn together in a 5x6 setting with no borders. It has really turned out to be a very sweet quilt. I have a back and binding chosen and I'm ready to quilt. I'm thinking swirls or meandering.

Another "abandoned" project (I'm afraid there are many :) ) is called "Cabin Fever" from the book by the same name by Whimsicals designed byTerri Degenkolb.
I bought the book and all the fabrics on retreat in 2007. I am always seduced by "house" themed quilts. You will see many more of them as I work my way through all the "kits" I have collected. Anyway, I finished the houses and completed the "neighborhood", now all I need to do is make the 24- 7 1/2 inch log cabin blocks..what???? wait 7 1/2 inch finished? oh I'm sure I didn't realize that when I fell for this quilt!! Well, I guess I could change the borders..right. Can you tell I'm trying to talk myself in or maybe out of making this border?
No, I will just have to take a deep breath and sew those SMALL log cabin blocks because I know that I will not be happy with this quilt with out them. I will post again when the borders are on.
I guess I had better get busy cutting those 1 1/4  ( are you kidding??) inch strips..maybe I should consider foundation for this one. There's a thought. I'll let you know what I decide>
To be continued...

It's Friday So the Color Must Be Blue

So, It's Friday again. How did that happen? Time is getting away from me. Long gone are the lazy easy summer days and now days and weeks seem to just fly by. I don't even want to think about how close the Holidays are...YIKES.
Well here are my Blue Friday pictures. Blue has long been a favorite color of mine and it was fun finding all the "blues" for this post.
Happy Friday to you all :>)  Kay
