Best Weekend EVER

Good Sunday morning to you all. Here I am getting ready for the final day of the three day retreat with Verna  Mosquera and 40+ other ladies in sunny California. This has been such a great weekend and Verna and Pam have treated us with inspiration, instruction, beautifully decorated surroundings and wonderful treats!!! I'm hoping that my many photos will do justice to all the "eye candy" that surrounded us each day. Not to mention the beautiful area surrounding the retreat location and the lovely quilt shops and their owners and staff that have treated us so wonderfully. Am I gushing???
I came here without a buddy and will leave with  many new friends, fellow bloggers and quilting enthusiasts.
I have much to share and many photos, but leave tomorrow morning to spend time with family here in Calif. before making the long drive back home. I'm not sure if I will have access to wireless but if so I will share my memories in stages along the way back.
For now, I will let a few pictures speak for themselves.
L to R in the back, Yours truly, Lois, Kristy, seated Verna and Sinta (Pink Pincushion).

I feel as though I have always known these ladies and know that we will all meet again.

Sweet little corner and table quilt is Verna's Raspberry Parfait

Our table!!( I won this cute cupcake holder as a door prize, lucky me!!!!)

A cute store was provided for us.

This treasure came from a local shop called Gardenseed.

Saturday afternoon we were served a lovely Tea!!!! Yummy :)

Thank you, Verna, for the best retreat ever and to the ladies at my table...I'm so glad to have met you!!!
Well, I think this enough sweetness for now.

Cogwheels

Happy Monday to all. I just finished sewing the borders on "Cogwheels" by Sew Be It. This was a fun and quick pattern and everything fit together well. I bought a fat quarter bundle a few weeks ago of "Prince Charming" by Tula Pink. I added some fabrics from my stash to them and bought the yardage for the border.
I really like how this turned out.

Wednesday we will be heading down to San Ramon, Calif. I'm attending a retreat with Verna Mosquera of The Vintage Spool. I took a class from her a few years ago in Celan, Wa. and have always wanted to travel to Calif. and attend another.
My hubby has family in the area and we plan on  spending some time with them before heading back next week. I have a few quilt shops on the list to visit and I'm looking forward to some California sunshine!!!

I have all my class supplies gathered and ready to pack.
Will have many pictures and stories to share.
Have a good week and happy sewing :-)

Hello, again

Wow..has it been that long since I posted??
I do have a few things to share and I really have been in my studio and making some fun things.

Quilting organic lines following the zigzag pattern. Really fun and easy...I should get this one finished today.

Fancied up the cover of a plain journal from Target. I make these for my granddaughter..but thought I needed one too. I will try to write down my ideas and keep track of "inspiration's".

Found the pattern for this cutie on Ravelry KrisKnits. It was fun and easy and used up some yarn that I already had!!
Sweet Tea is done and now I need to decide how to quilt it. Not sure what to use to fill in all the open spaces. Any ideas out there??
This quilt was on the cover of a magazine and I really like how it turned out. Another in line to be quilted....
I think it was a "Quilts and More" but can't seem to locate the issue. I'm sure it is somewhere safe : ).
Well I must move on now and finish quilting the Zigzag quilt.
Hope you are all having a good week
 ooxx Kay

PS I found the magazine.."Quilts and More" Spring 2010 Quilt is called "Flower Show" page 39-43.
